Private patient transfers

Private patient transport, arranged around the person travelling.

Wheelchair and stretcher transfers for appointments, hospital discharges and care home moves. Tell us about the journey, the stairs and any health needs, and we'll come back with a quote that fits.

Booking for a parent, a resident or a patient on your ward? You can fill it in on their behalf.

How it works

We ask the questions first, so the right crew turns up.

Every transfer is different. A short trip to a clinic for someone who walks with a frame is a very different job from a stretcher transfer down two flights of stairs. Our questions help us get it right first time.

  1. 01

    Tell us about the journey

Where from, where to, when, and whether you need a return trip or someone to wait.

  2. 02

    Tell us about the patient

How they get about, any stairs or tight access at either end, and any health needs the crew should know.

  3. 03

We call you with a quote

We check the details with you, confirm the crew and vehicle, and give you a clear price before anything is booked.

Transfers we can quote for

From a clinic visit to a stretcher transfer

Whatever the journey, the quote depends on how the patient gets about, what the access is like at each end and whether they need any care on the way.

Stretcher transfers

For patients who need to lie down for the whole journey, with crew to manage stairs and tight spaces at either end. Tell us about access when you ask for a quote and we'll plan the right team and equipment.

Quote a stretcher transfer

Wheelchair transfers

Travel in your own wheelchair or move into a vehicle seat. Manual and powered chairs, at your pace.

Hospital discharges

Home from hospital without the long wait, with help through the front door and up the stairs if needed.

Hospital appointments

Outpatient visits, scans and treatment, with the option for the crew to wait and bring the patient home.

Care home moves

Moving into or between care homes, with room for belongings and a family member alongside.

Airports, ports & stations

To or from a flight, ferry or train when public transport or a taxi isn't practical.

About us

A private service, so there's time to get it right

Haven Patient Transport takes people to and from hospital, clinics, care homes and home again. Because we're a private service, we book a time that suits you rather than giving you a window and hoping for the best.

Before we quote, we ask about stairs, mobility and health needs. It means we send enough crew, bring the right chair or stretcher, and don't have to rush anyone out of the door.

FAQs

Common questions

Can't see your question? Send us a message.

Who can book private patient transport?

Patients, family members, carers, care homes and hospital staff can all ask for a quote. If you're booking for someone else, it helps to have their mobility and access details to hand.

Can you carry someone who can't sit up for the journey?

Yes. Choose the stretcher option in the quote form and tell us about access at both ends, so we can plan the right crew and equipment.

Why do you ask about stairs and health needs?

Stairs, lifts, oxygen and other needs change how many crew we send and what equipment comes with them. Asking up front means an accurate quote and no surprises on the day.

Can a family member or carer travel too?

Usually, yes. Tell us how many people will travel with the patient when you ask for a quote and we'll confirm it when we call.

What happens to the health information I share?

We only use it to plan and price the journey and to brief the crew. We don't share it with anyone else or use it for marketing.
